Þórsmörk is a green valley sheltered between the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers, named after Thor himself. Getting there means crossing unbridged glacial rivers — something we do in our Land Cruiser, not a rental car.
Once inside, the valley opens into birch woodland, deep canyons and viewpoints over glaciers and volcanic peaks. We take you to the best spots at an easy pace, with time to walk and take it all in.
